SAS(Serial Attached SCSI) is a new generation of SCSI technology. As same as popular Serial ATA(SATA) hard disk, SAS adopted serial attached technology to obtain higher transfer speed, and improved inner space by shorten the tie link. SAS as a new developed interface after parallel SCSI interface, designed to improve the efficiency, availability and extensibility of storage system, provided compatibility with SATA hard drive.
