Heatsink

During operation, both the SSD controller and flash chips generate heat, and as the device continues to run, these components may remain at elevated temperatures for extended periods, potentially impacting stability and lifespan. To address this issue, heat sinks are utilized, and graphene aluminum foil thermal pads play a crucial role in the cooling process. These thermal pads effectively draw heat away from the controller and flash chips, conducting it to their surfaces and facilitating its dispersion into the surrounding air.

Heat sinks for SSDs come in various shapes and sizes, and some are specifically designed for M.2 NVMe SSDs or other form factors to ensure compatibility and efficient heat dissipation. They can be passive, relying on natural convection to dissipate heat, or active, using fans to enhance cooling. By incorporating heat sinks and thermal pads, SSDs can operate within optimal temperature ranges, ensuring reliable performance and longer lifespans for the devices.
